The Thrall Independent School District Board of Trustees has named current Chief Financial Officer Blake Schneider as Interim Superintendent since longtime Superintendent Tommy Hooker transitions into the role of Superintendent Emeritus. The appointment ensures continuity of leadership while Mr. Hooker approaches his December retirement.

Mr. Schneider brings more than 20 years of experience in public education to the role. Throughout his career, he has served students and schools in a variety of capacities, including teacher, coach, assistant principal, and chief financial officer. For the past eight years, he has served as CFO for Thrall ISD, overseeing the district's financial operations and helping guide long-term strategic planning.

In addition to his financial leadership, Mr. Schneider served as project manager for Thrall ISD's successful 2022 Bond Program, helping oversee major facility improvements and investments that continue to benefit students and staff.

A dedicated member of the Thrall community, Mr. Schneider is also a proud Thrall Tiger parent. He and his family are deeply invested in the success of the district, with two sons currently attending Thrall ISD: Hudson, a 10th-grade student, and Eli, a 7th-grade student.

"It is an honor to serve the students, staff, and families of Thrall ISD in this capacity," said Schneider. "I am grateful for the opportunity to continue building upon the strong foundation established by Mr. Hooker and to work alongside our dedicated team as we strive to elevate opportunities for every student."

The Board of Trustees expressed its appreciation to Mr. Hooker for his years of visionary leadership and service to Thrall ISD and looks forward to working with Mr. Schneider as the district continues its mission of educational excellence.
